BASIC INFORMATION ON COTTON
¨ In international arena, American cotton is considered
as finest quality. The US offers its cotton free of any
contamination.
¨ Egyptian cotton comes 2nd in quality.
¨ Pakistan’s number is 3rd which produces coarse cotton,
which does contain little contamination. Pakistan origin
cotton used to produce up to 30-counts, but now Pakistan
is producing cotton up to 80-counts. Cotton crop is
cultivated mainly in Punjab province and Sindh Province.
¨ India’s cotton starts from 100-counts.
¨ Cotton consumption in the world is around 5% of fine
counts (80 and above), whereas around 95% world’s
consumption is of coarse counts.

1. Rate in USA Currency, based on FAS Pakistan Port.
2. Rate on the basis of C&F Port of Discharge shall be quoted on
receipt of specific inquiry indicating name of port of discharge.
3. Packing in rolls / Seaworthy Bale.
4. Quality and Weight certificate issued from the Manufacturing Mill.
5. Inspection at the port of origin from SGS, at seller’s cost.
6. Delivery within 4-6 weeks from the date of receipt of advance
payment directly in the Bank’s account of manufacturing Mill, or
payment under LC, to be established from one of the first 100 world’s
first-class scheduled Banks.
7. Minimum quantity has to be two full containers load (FCL) or multiple.
